Benefit Plan Reviews
Many companies have installed an employee benefit plan and other than periodic visits from the plan Insurer to handle the occasional employee complaint, no has given any serious thought to key issues, as follows:
- What does the benefit plan cost
- Is the plan doing what it was intended to do – employee retention or other
- Is the plan costly and time consuming to administer?
- What are the alternatives available?
- Can a more effective less costly plan be found?
- Is the plan Fully insured, stop loss clauses on certain benefits, or purely Administrative Services Only (ASO).
- Is the plan a cafeteria style plan or fixed benefits provided
- Do the employees know what benefits they receive and the cost of the benefits?
Once there is a basic understanding of the above, Clausen & Associates can assist businesses to source and negotiate Benefit plan arrangements with insurance carriers and brokers.
We recommend a review and competitive quotes at least every 3 years for most companies, depending on a variety of factors relating to the business and it’s financial resources, number of employees, employee strategy etc..
John Clausen has a number of years experience in overseeing a large international Benefits plan as Financial Director Benefits Services and Secretary Pension Investment committee for a Multinational corporation.
